Harghita Mădăraș is the most visited mountain peak in Harghita county. On the northwest side, at an altitude of 1650 meters, there is the Harghita Mădăraș Rest House which was built in 1941 with the support of the Hungarian Government. From the top there is a nice view of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

It is the most popular Ski resort in the Szeklerland. The ski and hiking center is 36 km from Odorheiu Secuiesc. A total of 4.5 km of ski slopes can be found here at an altitude of 1,500-1,760 m above sea level.  The ski area is snow-sure from mid-December to mid-April, in case of favorable weather the season can last until mid-May. The ski slopes are constantly maintained with the help of snow machines. In the area there is a mountain rescue service available 24 hours a day.
