Church of Zetea

The Roman Catholic church of Zetea and its churches

The church was built between 1912 and 1914 and is considered the largest church in the region.

In Zetea, on Várdomb (citadel hill), at an altitude of 801 meters above sea level, between the volcanic plateau of Harghita and the region of the upper Târnava Hills, there are the remains of an ancient citadel. A church was built within its walls in 1772 - the baroque altar of the Roman Catholic church from Zetea originates from this church.

The church has three naves and can accommodate more than a thousand souls. The bifurcated tower is 45 m high.
